Our Team

The robotics team at Penn Tech High School is a diverse group of students that  blend their ideas,  teamwork, and technical knowledge. Comprising students passionate about engineering, programming, problem-solving, video development, web design and graphic arts, the team embodies the spirit of collaboration and dedication. The pre-engineering classroom buzzes with activity as they design, build, and fine-tune the robot. With the help of mentors, they navigate intricate challenges, honing their skills in mechanical engineering, electronics, and coding. Beyond competitions, they engage in outreach, inspiring younger students with summer robotics workshops and demonstrations. Their achievements extend beyond trophies; they cultivate a culture of curiosity and excellence, preparing each member for a future opportunity and excellence.

Our Mentors and Volunteers

Volunteers and mentors play a pivotal role in the success of a FIRST robotics team, offering their time, expertise, and guidance to support and inspire young minds in the world of STEM. Volunteers, often teachers, alumni, or professionals from the community, contribute in various capacities, from assisting with team logistics and event organization to mentoring students in specific technical areas like programming, engineering, or design.

Mentors, on the other hand, are typically experts in their fields who provide invaluable knowledge and mentorship to students. They share their real-world experience, helping students understand complex concepts, develop problem-solving skills, and navigate challenges throughout the robotics season. Mentors often form strong bonds with students, guiding them not just in robotics but also in life skills such as teamwork, communication, and perseverance.

Together, volunteers and mentors create a supportive environment that fosters learning, growth, and achievement for FIRST robotics team members. Their commitment and passion for STEM education leave a lasting impact, inspiring the next generation of innovators and leaders.
